The highlighted region is what the selected mode searches: Standard Similar scans a band around the seed, Roots / Inward looks toward the origin (foundational sounds), Niche / Outward looks toward the boundary (obscure sub-genres). After a search the result tracks appear as dots.

Browse the library as a virtual directory tree. The root splits by main genre, then by subgenre, then into named k-means clusters; leaf folders list the actual tracks. Without genre data the tree falls back to a mood partition followed by the main-genre and named-cluster levels.
Pick any two songs and walk the path between them. It starts at the first, digs down to the root they both grew from, then climbs back up to the second.
Your Path
Your two picks sit on the outer edge; the music they share sits toward the middle. The closer a song sits to the middle, the more it belongs to both of your picks. Out at the edge is where the more distinctive, niche songs live.
From General to Niche
Low means broadly appealing, high means niche. The dip in the middle is the root your two picks grow from; the climb back out is the path homing in on your second pick.
